Job Description: Junior to Mid UX UI Digital Product Designer at OCTO-EU

Location: Lyon, France (Headquarters based in Providence RI, USA)

Responsibilities:

• Being a master of Figma. This is our main production tool for building full spec product as well as releasing clickable prototypes. Expect to keep apprised of software features and updates to utilize best functionality, we love to hear about new plug-ins and shortcuts!
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clients, to define and develop compelling user experiences, concepts, and strategies for softwares and apps, saas products, workshops, and events / expos experiences etc.
• Develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
• Help to conduct product research, user testing, and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure optimal user experiences.
• Collaborate with our internal team to create visually stunning and intuitive user experience and interfaces that align with our clients’ brand identities and project goals.
• Contribute to build and maintain design libraries and component libraries in Figma to facilitate collaboration and ensure design consistency.
• Track and manage design tasks and projects using agile project management tools such as Jira or Notion and slack + client communication networks.
• Utilize design softwares such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects etc, and keynote + powerpoint to create captivating visuals and presentations as needed.
• Foster strong client relationships and confidently present design concepts to client groups and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a solid knowledge base of front-end coding functionality to collaborate effectively with developers.

Requirements:

• A portfolio and resume showcasing your outstanding visual storytelling skills and expertise in UX/UI design.
• Proven experience and strong skills in user experience design, user interface design, user flows, product architecture and wireframes, persona building and user research.
• Proficiency in Figma for creating screens, prototypes, and libraries.
• Familiarity with collaborative project mapping / brainstorming tools like Miro / Figjam etc.
• Fluency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote and local teams.
• Experience in client relations and confidently presenting design concepts to stakeholders and to internal teams.
• Solid understanding of frontend coding functionality.
• A flexible mindset with the ability to adapt to ever evolving project requirements and to fill in various roles.
• Fluent English is a must, bonus if you speak French or other languages!

Bonus skills and nice to haves we love:

• Print graphic production knowledge.
• Drawing and illustration skills.
• Basic motion graphics / animation / video editing skills in After effects, Premier pro, Cinema 4d, etc. a plus
• Coding skills are great if you like to occasionally help build UI or do QA with out resident head of dev.
• Past experiences designing for physical space and or convention / expos etc. and on the ground event collaboration.
• Experience working in XR (Extended Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) experience design as we are extending our work in this field. Bonus for working in game engines such as Unity etc.
• Experience in 3D design with Blender, 3ds max, Cinema 4d etc., Zbrush or keyshot, Solidworks. We do a lot of physical work as well and for XR.
• Social media skills (we admit we are not the best at this, but we’re getting there).
