Role: Project Manager/ Deployment Manager (Telecom and Networks)

Work Location: Frankfurt, Germany (Hybrid)/ Remote in EU possible with visits to Germany

 

Role purpose: –

Plan, structure, lead and execute the deployment of projects of variable risk and complexity. This may take the form of either a single large project or a number of smaller projects. Maximize the opportunity for current and future professional services fees and other revenues by adding value to customer businesses and/or effective management of projects and costs to realize efficiencies, benefits, and reduced costs internally.

 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: –

• Manage, support, maintain and control the build of the global network site infrastructure and projects within the assigned geography.
• Produce regular accurate and truthful reporting updates on project progress for the project team, stakeholders, and business units, using bespoke templates for highlights, Issues & Risks Logs, Finance Records and Dashboards. Exception reports as required if tolerance levels are being exceeded. Produce Lessons Learned & Closure reports.
• Resource Management – maintain relationship with project management team. Identify resources required by deployment team members. Discuss and agree roles & responsibility and rules of engagement.
• Finance & Benefits Management – At all times seek to identify most efficient use of project funds while achieving a quality and timely delivery to plan.
• Accountable for managing, forecasting and reporting on all project related budget and expenditure, orchestrate CAPEX Purchase Orders.
• Manage and control any changes to the project scope, including change management, using standard methods and processes. Maintaining a central log of all work undertaken by the regional deployment team, recording potential changes.

 

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience: –

• High customer focused individual who is self-driven towards defined goals.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in telecommunications field or Network operations environment demonstrating a strong background in transmission and data platform builds; with a clear understanding of the technologies used.
• Proven ability to investigate problem situations, consider key perspectives, analyse needs, evaluate options and define user requirements.
• Good knowledge of generic technologies and Telecommunication equipment’s, with ability to assess and make decisions regarding steps required to deploy as per plan and when necessary seek and implement alternative deployment methods to meet stringent deadlines and budgets.
• Capable of working in virtual teams in cross cultural working environment and at times of heavier workload to drive solutions.
• Strong team player with proven record of achieving goals set.

 

 

Key performance indicators: –

• Time to delivery service for network and customer driven projects.
• Rationalisation opportunities identified and Opex reductions.
• Individual performance and moral.

 

Must have technical / professional qualifications: –

• HNC or above in Engineering or Relevant technical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years project & programme management experience
