Propelled into the eyewear scene via an Indiegogo campaign in 2018 (with a launch video that Guy Raz deemed the best crowdfunding video he’d ever seen), Ombraz is shaking up an industry that hasn’t seen a significant design shift in over 200 years.
Our armless design has since won Backpacker Magazine Gear Editors’ Choice Award, Gear Junkie’s Best Sunglasses of 2020, USA Today’s Best Gear of 2020, Outside Magazine’s Gear of the Year in 2021, Wirecutter Sunglasses of the Year 2022, Men’s Health Gear of the Year 2023, Popular Mechanics Gear of the year 2022 and Wired Sunglasses of the Year 2022. Ok, I’ll stop – but that’s pretty cool.
While Ombraz solve many of the inherent issues we’ve all experienced with eyewear – we’ve got zero interest in shipping plastic around the world without delivering a substantial net-benefit environmental impact. Through our mangrove reforestation efforts – each pair is 1,714X carbon-negative, making Ombraz the most carbon-negative product available on the planet.
Now, we’re building a team of masterminds to push the boundaries of normalcy and catapult Ombraz into an industry ripe for innovation.
ABOUT THE VIDEO EDITOR ROLE
We’re currently 98% DTC, meaning we sell our sunglasses mostly completely online. High-quality, captivating, genuine content is critical to our brand and growth strategy.
We need a video editing wizard or wizardess to create strong edits for the likes of Instagram, FB, Tik Tok, the site & more.
Raw content will aggregated from branded content trips, ambassadors, and customers, then edited into hard-hitting pieces that elevate the brand, educate the people and entertain.
We’re on the hunt for an editing wizard who can leverage content from our various sources & pump out engaging marketing campaigns, both large and small, with immaculate brand personification, quickly and effectively. You’ll work directly alongside the founders, marketing manager and key company creatives/videographers to produce, develop and edit assets to bolster the brand and augment the high bar Ombraz has set in the content realm. The role will start with a heavy editing workload and will evolve to include more content creation and production over time.
We’re looking for an ambitious human who understands our meticulously curated brand voice, aesthetic, and product. Someone who can turn projects around quickly, can browse troves of content and find the gems with little managerial input and who wants to creatively express themselves with premium, bar-elevating projects. This role will start as contractor-based, hourly compensation with the opportunity to grow into a full-time video team.
