We’re a full-service growth marketing agency providing strategy and execution for some of the world’s most exciting startups and established brands. We specialize in tactics like Paid Media, SEO, Content, CRO, Data, and Performance Creative. Our bread and butter is building efficient, holistic marketing strategies and we do this with our team, process, and style.

We’re looking for a Director of Growth Marketing to join our team to lead the strategic planning and execution of our growth services. In this role, you’re responsible for leading and managing a team of 7 growth marketers, accountable to client retention and overall client experience.

Your work will shape how we talk about Tuff to the outside world — with existing customers and prospective ones alike — and you will work closely with leadership to evolve our growth services and team. You’ll collaborate directly with sales on key client relationships and business development. Your efforts will directly increase awareness of Tuff, our team and service, and will ultimately help to drive growth.

Requirements

About you:

  • You have experience building first-class growth marketing strategies for brands in nearly every industry
  • You’re curious and creative. You want to know your audience deeply and will use those insights to develop story ideas that educate and entertain them.
  • You consistently report on marketing and business KPIs and identify opportunities for improvements and new potential wins
  • You have experience leading teams and managing people
  • You enjoy setting up new processes and structures from scratch, creating both long-form and short-form plans that drive business results

Within 30 days, you’ll…

  • Shadow sales on key pitches to understand our current positioning
  • Take inventory of all the Tuff clients and capabilities to better understand our services and value propositions
  • Review our existing growth process and internal team structure
  • Meet the growth team and establish a regular cadence with direct reports

Within 60 days, you’ll…

  • Work with leadership to develop, diagnose and optimize a growth strategy that supports objectives for building high quality leads and pipeline
  • Identify process improvements for the growth team and actively implement solutions
  • Assess biggest needs and pain points of Tuff clients and outline solutions to drive maximum impact
  • Create content pieces based on briefs, personas, an understanding of the marketing funnel & buyer journey, and other background material
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to the internal Tuff team on strategic planning, execution, and results
  • Manage a full team of 6-8 Senior Growth Marketers and Growth Marketers

Within 90 days, you’ll…

  • Measure the impact of our growth team, including its influence on audience growth, customer acquisition, and conversions
  • Strengthen cross-functional accountability and collaboration for quality
  • Build a strategic plan for the growth team that balances short-term wins and long-term initiatives
  • Oversee the entire growth vertical, improving cross-functional collaboration with the other services verticals
  • Participate in core sales pitches and key business development opportunities

About you:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in the growth marketing space and/or fast-growing startup
  • Stellar written communication skills & a natural storyteller
  • Previous experience owning and executing against a strategic plan
  • Ability to keep a pulse on the latest trends and a natural curiosity to understand what our audience cares the most about
  • Previous experience managing people and small team
  • You have a learning mindset and are committed to getting better every day.
  • You have a bias toward action and are both efficient and adaptable.
  • You are a driver, focused on making an impact on the organization and clients every day.
