Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to architect and build our data platform. Data Engineers own the entire data pipeline starting with how we ingest data, transform that information into actionable analytics and design the interfaces and APIs for how data is consumed and distributed.

Primary Responsibilites:

As a key member of the software development and delivery team, you will:

  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and qualityDesign and develop cutting-edge solutions, using existing and emerging technology platforms used to  deliver and optimize data enterprise services
  • Provide technical leadership, evaluation and recommendations for controls in the data lifecycle and new technologies that can be used to advance new features and capabilities around data governance, data privacy and data ethics
  • Create the pipeline for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Implement Data Warehouse Reporting solutions across multiple business lines

Qualifications and Skills:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • At least 5 years of software or data engineering experience in data modeling, ETL, data warehouse/data lakes and consolidating data from multiple data sources
  • Passion for working with data in order to accurately model and analyze complex systems such as a publicly traded company, commodity market, economy, or financial instruments
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • Proficiency with RDBMS, NoSQL, distributed compute platforms such as Spark, Dask or Hadoop
  • Strong development skills with one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript or Python
  • Experience using containers, container orchestration, and container configuration management using Docker, Kubernetes,  and Helm. Experience with k8s is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations

Desired Qualifications:

● Experience with trading, exchange, and related data sets
● 5+ years of experience with Azure and cloud native development
● Familiarity with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
● Strong interest in finance and capital markets

Expected annual base salary for this role is between $125,000 and $150,000 at the commencement of employment. However, base salary, if hired, will be determined on an individualized basis and constitutes only one part of the total rewards and compensation package, which will include a 4% 401K match and health benefits subsidized at 75% by Templum. Depending on the position, total compensation may also include options, commission earnings, incentive compensation, and/or discretionary bonuses.
