The Sage Group’s client is in search of a Web Content Specialist. The client is undergoing a complete transformation of its global website to build a next-generation digital experience optimized for search, generative AI discovery (GEO), and conversion-driven growth.
We are seeking a highly skilled Content Specialist (Contract) who has deep expertise in modern SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and AI-assisted content workflows. This role will be responsible for rewriting and optimizing all website copy to ensure it performs not only in traditional search engines, but also in AI-powered discovery environments (e.g., ChatGPT-style interfaces, AI search summaries, and answer engines).
You will collaborate closely with product marketing, marketing managers, scientific SMEs, brand/corporate teams, and web/UX design to deliver content that is technically accurate, strategically aligned, and optimized for discoverability, engagement, and lead generation.
Key Responsibilities
Content Transformation & Execution
- Audit, rewrite, and standardize website content across all pages for the new website
- Translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, compelling, and user-centric narratives
- Ensure alignment with brand voice, messaging hierarchy, and strategic positioning
SEO, GEO & AI Optimization
- Lead content optimization for modern search ecosystems, including:
- Traditional SEO (keywords, metadata, internal linking)
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) for AI-driven discovery and answer engines
- Structuring content for AI summarization, featured snippets, and conversational queries
- Apply search intent modeling across the funnel (awareness ? consideration ? decision)
- Optimize content for conversion and lead generation (CTAs, landing pages, engagement flows)
AI-Enabled Content Creation
- Leverage tools such as JasperAI, SEMrush, and other AI/SEO platforms to improve content quality, scale, and performance
- Use AI responsibly to accelerate drafting, ideation, and optimization—while maintaining human quality and scientific accuracy
- Continuously refine content based on data, performance insights, and evolving AI/search trends
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with SMEs (scientists, product managers) to validate content accuracy and depth
- Collaborate with product marketing and marketing managers to align messaging to target audiences and use cases
- Work with brand and corporate communications to ensure consistency in voice and tone
- Align with UX/UI and web design teams to integrate content seamlessly into user journeys and page structures
Content Governance & Scalability
- Ensure consistency across all page templates (product, solutions, industries, resources, corporate pages)
- Manage iterative reviews and revisions in a fast-paced environment
- Help establish content best practices for SEO/GEO and AI optimization to support long-term scalability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in digital content, web copywriting, or content marketing, preferably in B2B or life sciences
- Demonstrated experience with website redesigns or large-scale content migrations
- Strong expertise in: SEO best practices and tools (e.g., SEMrush), GEO / AI search optimization and evolving search behaviors, and writing for both humans and AI-driven discovery environments
- Hands-on experience with AI content tools (e.g., JasperAI or similar platforms)
- Ability to simplify complex scientific/technical topics into engaging and accessible content
- Strong editing, storytelling, and attention to detail
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and SMEs
Preferred Experience
- Experience in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare industries
- Familiarity with schema markup, structured content, and semantic search principles
- Understanding of UX writing, CRO (conversion rate optimization), and digital journey mapping
- Experience managing geo-specific or globalized content strategies
Location: Remote
Duration: 3–4 months (contract)
Compensation: $65-70/Hour
