Demand.io is a profitable, founder-led consumer AI commerce player driving $1B+ in annual GMV. We are the team behind SimplyCodes (the #1 AI-powered savings tool) and Product.ai (emerging Axiomatic Intelligence shopping assistant).

We are seeking a VP Product, AI Systems to operate as a Strategic Owner. This is not a standard management role; it is a high-leverage position for a builder capable of architecting the entire product surface of an AI-native enterprise.

We are pivoting from a “Search” company to an “Adjudication” company. We are moving from “finding codes” to “verifying truth.” You will lead this transition, managing the collision between our Transaction Layer (SimplyCodes) and our Intelligence Layer (Product.ai). You will not just manage a roadmap; you will define the physics of the Agent Economy.

What You Will Build

You will not be writing tickets for minor features. You will be architecting the strategic engines of the company.

1. The Agent Infrastructure (The Pivot)
You will lead the launch of our next-generation commerce infrastructure. We are moving beyond human-facing websites to build the “Truth Layer” for AI Agents. You will design the protocols and interfaces that allow external intelligences (OpenAI, Anthropic) to query our proprietary knowledge graph for verified shopping data, positioning us as the standard commerce protocol for the AI era.

2. The Browser Intelligence Layer
You will reinvent our browser extension strategy. The current model (passive coupon overlay) is facing commoditization. You will architect a “High-Fidelity Data Sensor”—a companion that acts as an active intelligence layer, harvesting real-time cart telemetry and delivering verified price and quality data directly into the user’s flow.

3. The Digital Wallet Ecosystem
You will pioneer a “Greenfield” strategy for mobile identity. We are moving from “Lists of Codes” to “Digital Wallet Passes.” You will build the strategy for geo-fenced, wallet-native commerce assets that bridge the digital and physical worlds, creating a new engagement vector that no competitor has touched.

4. The Unified Intelligence Architecture
You will integrate two distinct product lines into a single “Unified Platform.” You must align the Utility Engine (SimplyCodes) with the Reasoning Engine (Product.ai), ensuring that data flows losslessly between the Transaction Layer that executes the purchase and the Intelligence Layer that judges the product.

• You are AI-Native. You do not just “use” AI; you understand the underlying mechanics of LLMs, RAG, and Agentic workflows. You know the difference between a probabilistic guess and a deterministic axiom, and you know how to build products that leverage both.
• You are a Deep Generalist. You are as comfortable discussing API schema design with engineers as you are debating GTM strategy with marketers. You refuse to stay in a silo.
• You are a Player-Coach. You reject the “Clipboard Manager” archetype. You lead by doing. You are capable of writing the spec, designing the wireframe, and defining the logic when the team needs a breakthrough.

Compensation & Ownership

We operate as a high-performance studio, not a typical corporation. We share the upside directly with the builders.

• Base Salary: $380,000 – $550,000. We target the 80th+ percentile to attract 1-of-1 talent. Your base covers your life; your equity builds your freedom.
• Profit Participation (PIUs): You aren’t just an employee; you are a partner. We grant Profits Interest Units (PIUs), giving you true ownership and a share of the company’s operating profit.
