The Basics:

As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on Cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.

*This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance 3x a week in Bellevue, WA.

What you’ll do:

• Build a Kubernetes platform from the ground up
• Build and maintain Tanium’s cloud infrastructure platform and services as part of agile development team
• Create automated unit tests, API tests, integration tests and ensure quality delivery
• Author technical documents and artifacts for developed software
• Work with persistent data stores, caches, messages buses, and other server-side technology

We’re looking for someone with:

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • CS Degree or related technical field preferred
• Locality
  • U.S. Candidates: In accordance with United States government customer requirements, applicants for this role must be a U.S. citizen, national, or resident pursuant to 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) and 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
• Experience
  • 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred
  • Experience building a Kubernetes-based platform
  • Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, secure, scalable, observable, supportable, and maintainable Kubernetes clusters
  • Strong working knowledge of at least one of: Golang, Terraform, or Scripting Languages
  • Experience with API design and development Experience with Azure or AWS
  • Experience with containers and microservices
  • Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi)
  • Experience with container orchestration solutions (preferably Kubernetes)

Other

• Demonstrates excellent judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability
• Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
• Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments and address the root causes of those fires for the future
• Has knowledge of a variety of modern backend software frameworks and the versatility to learn new tools and languages

What you’ll get

This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
