Search Engine Optimization Specialist
Company details
Company: RevPilots
Job type: Remote
Country: United States
City: San Francisco
Region: California
Experience: With previous experience
Description of the offer
Our client is the premier go-to-market consulting agency operating at the intersection of earned media, search visibility, and AI-driven discovery. As search evolves from keyword rankings to answer engine results, we need someone to support our digital team who understands both sides of that shift and can execute for a portfolio of clients across industries.
The SEO & AEO Specialist will work for the VP of Digital Strategy and help own the search strategy and content execution layer of our digital team. You will run keyword research, build and execute pillar-and-cluster content plans, track performance across traditional and AI-driven search surfaces, and contribute to competitive and ICP intelligence gathering that feeds both content and account strategy.
You will work directly with our team tools, including Claude Cowork, to automate repeatable workflows and push output quality further than a manual-only process allows.
Core Responsibilities

Search Strategy & Execution
- Conduct deep keyword research and build topic clusters that map to client ICPs and buyer journey stages.
- Develop, maintain, and iterate on pillar page and cluster content strategies for multiple client accounts.
- Monitor and improve organic performance across GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Semrush.
- Identify content gaps through competitive analysis and translate findings into actionable editorial briefs.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
- Understand how LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.) source and surface content, and apply that knowledge to content structure.
- Track AEO performance across available tooling, including emerging platforms, and help develop a measurement framework as the space evolves.
- Structure content to maximize citation likelihood in AI-generated answers: clear entity definitions, schema markup, FAQ formatting, and authoritative sourcing.
- Stay current on LLM training signals, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns, and how answer engines evaluate E-E-A-T signals.
Content Operations
- Write or edit SEO-optimized content that adheres to client brand voice and topical authority requirements.
- Manage content calendars and ensure on-time delivery of cluster content, pillar pages, and supporting assets.
- Collaborate with the PR and demand gen teams to align content with earned media campaigns and backlink opportunities.
Intelligence & Reporting
- Run competitive intelligence reviews using Semrush, Ahrefs, and AI-assisted research to surface positioning opportunities for clients.
- Contribute to ICP reviews that inform both content strategy and account targeting, working alongside the broader team.
- Build and maintain Databox dashboards that translate SEO and AEO metrics into clear client-facing reporting.
- Provide regular performance reports with clear narrative, attribution context, and forward-looking recommendations.
HubSpot & Campaign Integration
- Tag and track content performance within HubSpot to connect SEO activity to pipeline attribution.
- Collaborate on content offers, landing pages, and nurture sequences with an understanding of how search drives HubSpot contacts and deal flow.
Core Competencies
We are looking for someone with demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

- Analytics & Measurement – Proficiency in GA4 event tracking, conversion attribution, and Search Console query analysis
- Content Writing & Editorial Judgment – Ability to write or direct content that is both search-optimized and genuinely useful to a defined audience

Preferred Experience
- Agency background: you have managed SEO and content strategy across multiple client accounts simultaneously, navigated competing priorities, and delivered measurable results under client timelines.
- Supply chain or logistics sector knowledge: familiarity with supply chain terminology, buyer personas, and industry dynamics is a meaningful advantage given our client base.
- Experience presenting SEO strategy and performance to B2B clients, including stakeholders who may not have deep technical search backgrounds.
- Familiarity with HubSpot content tools, blog publishing, and CTA attribution beyond basic CRM use.
- Prior use of AI writing or research tools in a professional content workflow, not just casual experimentation.
What Working with AI Looks Like on This Team
This role is not about using AI to replace thinking. It is about using AI to do more of the high-value work that used to get squeezed out by volume. Specifically, you will be expected to:
- Use competitive intelligence workflows to pull structured positioning data on client competitors and translate those findings into content angles and battlecard inputs.
- Participate in ICP review sessions where AI-assisted research is combined with your own
- strategic judgment to sharpen targeting and messaging for client accounts.
- Contribute to skill and workflow improvement over time. If you find a better way to structure a prompt or a workflow, we want to know about it.
Curiosity about AI is not optional. You do not need to be an engineer, but you do need to be someone who leans into new tools, tests what works, and thinks about how AI is reshaping the search landscape from both the content creation and the content discovery side.
