The Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on, systems-savvy Operations Lead to build and scale our research lab’s backbone. As our first dedicated operations hire, you’ll design and manage processes, support research project execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, and help us deliver on our bold mission—day in and day out.

What You’ll Do:

Design, implement, and optimize lab-wide processes (project tracking, communications, fellowships, documentation, onboarding, etc.)

Coordinate research projects and support collaboration among researchers, engineers, and partners

Own daily operations—keep us running smoothly as we grow, from scheduling to event logistics to resource planning

Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and managing research fellows, contributors, and visiting collaborators

Serve as a key liaison between leadership, research teams, and external partners

Set up and improve systems for reporting, knowledge management, legal/HR compliance, and vendor management

Help manage community communications (newsletter, website updates, Slack/Discord)
Identify bottlenecks and proactively solve problems—think like an operator, act like an owner!

About You:

2+ years’ experience in operations, project management, or a similar “get-things-done” role (startups, research labs, or technical orgs a plus)

Systems thinker who thrives in fast-moving, mission-driven environments
Relentlessly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable building new processes from scratch
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you’ll work with technical and non-technical teams)
Proactive, resourceful, and always looking for ways to make things run better
Strong with tools like Notion, Airtable, Slack, Google Workspace, and willing to learn more

(Bonus) Experience supporting research, technical, or nonprofit organizations
