United Exports is a federally aligned initiative launching the Official U.S. Export Gateway — a national platform to promote, verify, and connect over 280,000 American exporters with international buyers across 230+ countries. Backed by ongoing agency outreach, the project integrates AI pipelines, a human verification call center, and front-end systems that will transition to full federal control.
We are seeking a Fractional Product Leader (CPO-level or equivalent) to help oversee and guide front-end architecture and strategy through development handoff and launch.
Your Role
As a fractional product lead, you’ll:
Align user experience, brand identity, and federal goals into one cohesive product roadmap
Coordinate with branding and web development teams to ensure usability and compliance
Translate backend and call center outputs into front-end functionality (e.g., search, exporter profiles, verified trust seals, document viewing)

Collaborate closely with the AI development team and fractional CAIO
Provide structure around product testing, stakeholder review, and federal handoff protocols
Ideal Profile
Proven experience launching high-traffic platforms (gov or enterprise a plus)
Experience working with branding, design, and development teams in tandem
Familiarity with compliance, accessibility, and security standards in federal-facing projects (FedRAMP, WCAG, etc.)
Bonus: Prior work with U.S. Trade, Commerce, or Small Business–focused systems

Fractional Chief Product Officer (CPO) — Role for United Exports
A fractional CPO will serve as the connective tissue between all major vendors — particularly branding, web development, AI development, and government handover.
Recommended Scope & Involvement
25–35 hr/month engagement, scaling up to 50+ hrs/month during integration and QA months (around months 6–10 of the timeline).
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Architecture
Translate United Exports’ goals into a feature roadmap.
Align UX/UI with brand strategy and federal standards.
Serve as the product “voice” across tech, branding, and front-end teams.
- Interface Management
Act as liaison between:
Web development agency (e.g. Mobomo)
Branding agency (e.g. Landor & Fitch)
AI/CAIO team (e.g. DataRobot)
Federal stakeholders for review/handover.
Ensure timeline alignment across these silos.
- User Experience & Interface Leadership
Approve visual direction, layout logic, and navigation.
Ensure accessibility and multilingual capability are prioritized.
- QA, Launch, and Post-Handoff Readiness
Create or approve testing protocols for UX, flow, and responsiveness.
Support creation of training/onboarding materials for federal ownership.
Ensure data flow and AI inputs remain functional in real-world scenarios.
