SECONDSENSE is a VC-backed startup building the operating system for resale—cleaning up a fragmented, inefficient secondhand $350Bn market and helping people shop smarter. After going viral on TikTok—including content that all-in has reached 6.4M+ views (and counting)—we experienced a 32,000% surge in daily page visits and a wave of inbound vendor interest.

We’re now scaling up to continue building the platform consumers trust, vendors rely on, and the resale economy runs on.

Like Stripe for payments or Plaid for financial data, we’re building the rails for resale.

Role Overview:
We’re hiring a Founding AI Engineer to help architect the next generation of intelligent resale infrastructure. You’ll work directly with the technical founder (ex-Instagram Senior ML engineer) to define what “smart resale” looks like, and build the core systems that make SECONDSENSE the trusted source in secondhand.

What You’ll Do:

• Build core ML systems powering search, intelligence, and user experience
• Develop scalable pipelines for model training and inference (Python, PyTorch)
• Shape data labeling and system architecture
• Help define our technical strategy and engineering culture from the ground up

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field (required)
• Master’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of ML/AI experience
• Strong background in deep learning and NLP
• Consumer-facing e-commerce applied ML experience highly preferred
• Experience with e-commerce or related companies (e.g., SSENSE, GOAT, StockX)
• Production experience in Python and ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Entrepreneurial mindset (0 to 1, non-incremental work) and bias toward shipping
• Bonus: familiarity with product data, marketplaces, or search ranking

Compensation/Location:
Full-time, competitive salary + founding-level equity
SF/NY-preferred; remote considered for exceptional candidates
