The Marketing team tells the Brex story, determines messaging and positioning, and translates our products and features into tangible customer benefits. Our marketers are responsible for acquiring and growing customers and have a deep understanding of both the business and our customers. We’re a highly cross-functional team and partner most closely with the Product, Sales, and Design teams to show our prospects and customers how we can help them reach their full potential.
What you’ll do
As the Commercial Marketing Lead at Brex, you’ll craft the entire story for one of our most important customer segments. You’ll be the ultimate expert on how to connect with startup founders and their companies, understanding their unique challenges in growing and scaling their business. You’ll communicate exactly how Brex products like our corporate cards, expense management, bill pay, travel and more provide the essential financial tools to help them grow and scale their business.
This role blends sharp strategic thinking with compelling creative storytelling, sitting right at the heart of product, brand, and go-to-market to fuel pipeline and ensure our startup customers thrive.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in our NY or SF office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week: Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.
Responsibilities
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify new product and GTM growth opportunities
- Build the overall narrative and marketing strategy for the commercial segment, ensuring our messaging directly addresses and resonates with mid-market decision-makers
- Execute full-funnel sales plays and marketing campaigns to optimize every stage of the commercial GTM engine–from acquisition to adoption to retention.
- Communicate and evangelize our product roadmap / seasonal releases to internal stakeholders and customer accounts
- Create sales and marketing materials that demonstrate why Brex is the platform of choice and the best company to partner with—these include pitch decks, one-pagers, web pages, customer testimonials, and thought leadership pieces.
- Act as the connective tissue between Product, Sales, and Brand – ensuring narrative alignment, campaign prioritization, and go-to-market fit across the entire startup motion
- Define and report on key success metrics, including segment pipeline growth, campaign performance, and product adoption – and continuously optimize marketing plans based on data
Requirements
- 10+ years in product marketing and GTM at a B2B SaaS company
- 5+ years leading teams and/or cross-functional strategic initiatives involving executive-level stakeholders
- 2+ years of experience leading and scaling high-performing teams
- Customer-obsessed with deep empathy for small-to-medium sized businesses
- Proven track record of translating features and products into compelling, customer-centric narratives
- Expertise in market segmentation, personas, and customer journey mapping
- Strategic thinker who can execute tactically and work cross-functionally
- Proficiency with AI tools for productivity and content creation
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role in SF or NYC is $221,480 – $224,248. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
