We are seeking a Senior Chromium Developer (Android) with a strong background in open source projects, particularly within the realm of web browsers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Android development within the Chromium or Brave open source projects. They will play a key role in designing and developing a cutting-edge browser application, emphasizing high-quality code, scalability, and testability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced Chromium Android browser application with a focus on usability, performance, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Implement and maintain robust, reusable, and efficient codebases
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, ensuring optimal performance across various devices and OS versions
- Design and develop a feature-rich browser application for Android using the Chromium open source project
- Implement and maintain scalable and performant software solutions for the android platform
- Analyze, debug, and resolve programming issues to ensure optimal application performance and stability
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards for android development
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to continuously improve development processes
Key Skills:
- Chromium Android Development experience is a must
- Extensive experience in Android app development, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C++ programming languages
- Solid understanding of Android SDK, UI design principles, and Material Design guidelines
- Proficiency in Android development with a focus on open source projects like Chromium or Brave
- Strong programming skills in Swift and Objective-C, with at least 3 years of experience in each language
- Ability to collaborate effectively in small, agile teams and adapt to fast-paced environments
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Android development
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality Android applications with a focus on user experience and performance optimization
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality Android solutions on time and within budget
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
