Description of the offer

We are hiring a Python Developer for a long-term onsite contract opportunity in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI, working in cloud-native and containerized environments.

This role involves close collaboration with front-end, DevOps, and product teams to deliver reliable, production-grade solutions.

Location

  • Columbus, OH
  • Work Mode: 5 days onsite (Mandatory)
  • Local candidates only – no relocation

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contract (C2C)
  • Duration: Long-term
  • Rate: $60/hr on C2C
  • Work Authorization: H1B only (valid status required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs with proper versioning and documentation
  • Implement cloud-native patterns for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Package and deploy applications using Docker or Podman
  • Work with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, or EC2
  • Develop and manage ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for SQL Server databases
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and front-end teams for end-to-end delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Hands-on experience with FastAPI
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Practical experience with Docker / containerization
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Experience with ETL development and workflow automation
  • Strong experience with SQL Server
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asynchronous programming in Python
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Understanding of security best practices for APIs and cloud deployments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
