We are looking for a sr. certified scrum master, and certified jira specialist to help manage our quickly growing AI startup in the CRE space.

We are looking for a Senior Certified Scrum Master with Jira expertise to lead our Agile practices, optimize workflows, and support our CTO and Lead Developer in creating a best-in-class software development organization.

Role Overview

This is a senior-level, hands-on leadership role where you will own and refine our Agile framework, enforce Jira best practices, and lead a large distributed team of 30+ engineers, QA professionals, and DevOps specialists. You will ensure smooth sprint planning and execution across development, staging, and production environments while building robust processes for managing burn down, bug triage, velocity tracking, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Leadership
• Lead Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives) for 30+ globally distributed engineers.
• Act as a coach and mentor to the engineering and product teams, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive adoption of Agile best practices in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Jira Administration & Optimization
• Manage and optimize Jira at scale, including workflows, custom fields, automation, dashboards, and reports.
• Create actionable metrics and visual dashboards to monitor developer velocity, sprint health, burndown rates, and bug trends.
Monitor daily standup written reports to make sure adherence to scrum best practices is being followed. Report to management when not being followed.
• Enforce Jira usage standards to ensure clear, accurate, and up-to-date information.

Bug Triage & Quality Management
• Oversee triage processes to clearly differentiate bugs, feature requests, and business logic changes.
• Build and enforce SOPs for bug reporting with reproducibility and prioritization guidelines.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure predictable releases and a stable production environment.

Process Governance & SOP Development
• Write, maintain, and enforce SOPs for Agile practices, Jira usage, and sprint workflows.
• Act as a “process owner” who ensures discipline and adherence to agreed-upon practices.
• Continuously analyze and refine team workflows to improve productivity and delivery.

Cross-Environment Delivery Management
• Ensure predictable delivery across development, staging, and production pipelines.
• Partner with DevOps and engineering leadership to optimize release processes and improve overall reliability, and especially eliminate bugs.

Qualifications
• Certifications:
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
• Certified Jira Administrator or Jira Software Administrator.
• Experience:
• 5+ years as a Scrum Master in enterprise-level SaaS environments.
• Proven track record leading Scrum teams of 30+ engineers across multiple time zones.
• Experience managing Agile workflows in environments with CI/CD pipelines and multi-stage deployments (development, staging, production).
• Strong background in software development lifecycle, QA processes, and DevOps collaboration.
• Skills:
• Advanced Jira administration and analytics expertise.
• Exceptional facilitation and communication skills, especially managing remote teams.
• Ability to write clear, actionable SOPs and enforce process standards.
• Python or other skills to help build out custom reports
• Experience in enterprise security and compliance practices is a plus.
