Why This Role Matters

We’re doubling down on delight. To reclaim the emotional resonance our audience deserves, we’re searching for a freelance motion designer who can transform static screens into living scenes—animating micro‑interactions, playful “joy moments,” and lightweight creative tools that keep our core loop (share → react → amplify) buzzing.

What You’ll Tackle

• Animate onboarding, reactions, and in‑app achievements so first‑time users feel instantly at home.
• Craft bite‑sized Lottie animations, sprite sheets, and prototype videos that guide engineering implementation in Flutter.
• Build lightweight creative‑expression modules (GIF layering, sticker bursts, reaction badges) that empower users to shine.
• Collaborate across time zones with product, brand, and engineering teams to iterate fast on emotion‑driven prototypes.
• Conduct quick‑turn usability tests to validate that motion is boosting clarity, speed, and joy—not adding friction.

Must‑Haves

• 3+ years designing production‑ready motion for mobile apps (iOS/Android)—social, gaming, or entertainment preferred.
• Portfolio that highlights micro‑interaction work: progress, gestures, rewards, empty states, etc.
• Fluency with Figma, After Effects, Lottie, and motion‑ready asset export workflows. Bonus: Rive or Spine.
• Comfortable working async with Slack, Linear, and Loom; clear English communication (written & verbal).
• Reliable bandwidth during at least 2 crossover hours with PST (UTC‑7) for crits and stand‑ups.

Bonus Points

• Experience shipping Flutter animations or working closely with Flutter engineers.
• Illustration chops that add warmth and personality to motion assets.
• Familiarity with gamified engagement loops, social gifting, or live community events.
• Multilingual or culturally attuned—you understand how joy looks & feels in Lagos, Manila, and São Paulo alike.
