Proto is building the AI-native operating system for the future of medicine. We are changing the way care is delivered and personalized in private-pay medicine. We’re in stealth, revenue-generating, and actively deploying across top membership clinics across all 50 U.S. states. We’ve closed an over-subscribed round with a leading pre-seed fund and top-tier angels (ex-GP at Thrive Capital, Kleiner Perkins scout, $1B+ founder angels), and we’re working closely with the OpenAI GTM team.
We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to build and scale our company with us. You’ll be working with us to support building a product from 0 to 1. As a founding engineer, you’ll be doing it all — integrating orchestrating tool-calling agents, scaling data infrastructure across GCP and building a full-stack web application from scratch. The ideal candidate has strong full-stack experience and is deeply interested in building a company with high-caliber teammates from the ground up. This role is ideal for ambitious engineers who want to start their own companies someday or want to take on executive leadership roles as we scale our company.
Proto is led by a seasoned founding team: our CEO has scaled private clinics and multiple 0→1 startups; our CTO built the engineering infrastructure at Tempus AI through IPO, with the eng team doubling every 6 months; and our CMO scaled a YC-backed healthcare company and led clinic product at Ambience AI.
