What you’ll be doing:

• Make Preply the go-to platform for learners to connect with their ideal tutors and kickstart a lasting learning journey
• Partner with leadership to align on the strategic direction for the Growth Tribe, ensuring a cohesive vision that guides and connects the work across squads.
• Work closely with the product and engineering teams to shape and elevate the learner acquisition and conversion experience, ensuring a seamless and engaging journey from discovery to subscription.
• Prototype and iterate on design solutions based on feedback from users and stakeholders, leading design experiments and pushing creative boundaries to improve the usability and effectiveness of the learning tools.
• Contribute to the evolution of Preply’s Design System by incorporating design patterns and guidelines, ensuring consistency and coherence across the product ecosystem.
• Actively participate in cross-functional discussions and workshops to share insights, learnings.
• Be a leader in the Preply design community, mentoring designers and helping to elevate the craft across the team.

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum of 8+ years of professional Product Design experience, with a strong track record in setting a design vision, mentoring designers, and driving cohesive design strategies across teams.
• Experience building consumer-facing, mobile-first products that have ongoing and frequent use.
• Experience in conducting and leading research, and leveraging insights to do excellent product “detective” work.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present your work, weave compelling narratives, and persuade key stakeholders to align around a cohesive design vision. You are confident in your ideas but open to learning from others.
• You have experience handing off work to engineers, the dedication and focus to work alongside them to ensure high quality design on launch.
• You have the drive to share work early and often, fostering a mindset of collective ownership while mentoring designers and providing constructive critique to elevate the team’s design quality. You leave the ego at the door.
• As a plus, we value any experience working on the “seller side” (e.g. content creators, sellers, advertisers, …) of marketplaces, as well as experience using emotional design to deliver “delightful” experiences
