Description of the offer

Join us in building the immutable record of property ownership. At Balcony Technology Group, you won’t just build software—you’ll forge the source of truth for our most vital assets.

Balcony is a seed-stage startup (valued at $45 M) dedicated to restoring trust in public records. We partner with governments to transform archaic, fragmented property data into unified, tamper-proof digital registries using blockchain and AI, solving a $10B+ problem that affects every property owner in America. Our work protects property rights, reduces fraud, and ensures the integrity of the data that underpins our economy.

The Role

  • As an early GIS/Geospatial Software Engineer, you will shape the core mapping and data analysis capabilities for our institutional partners. You will:
  • Architect and build sophisticated, interactive mapping tools for government employees in U.S. municipalities and counties.
  • Create dynamic, interactive maps that visualize property parcels with complex zoning overlays and display detailed property ownership data.
  • Implement powerful geospatial queries, including radius searches, proximity analysis, and complex data intersections.
  • Integrate and manage diverse geospatial data sources, including shapefiles and other formats, into our central data platform.

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Are a true craftsperson, passionate about building geospatial systems with impeccable accuracy and performance.
  • Possess a deep curiosity about how things work and a drive to understand complex data systems at a fundamental level.
  • Are excited to use AI tools as a lever, multiplying your ability to build and innovate.
  • Value creating robust, scalable, and maintainable systems built for the long term.
  • Have a deep background in GIS principles, geospatial data structures, and spatial analysis.

  1. ESRI ArcGIS (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, etc.)
  2. Google BigQuery (including native geospatial functions and ESRI integration)
  3. Python (with libraries like GeoPandas, Shapely)
  4. Geospatial Data Formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, etc.)
  5. Modern AI Coding Tools (e.g. Claude Code)
