HomeCloud is rethinking the antiquated home inspection process to improve home onboarding and simplify home management. Our aim is to transform homeownership and management from inspection to repairs and renovations and routine maintenance, providing buyers and sellers with better insights into their homes.

 Time Zones

We’re hiring within a range of UTC-6 to UTC+2 (from US Central to Central European Time)

️ Role Responsibilities

You’ll be a key contributor in building scalable, intelligent backend systems that power the future of homeownership and shape how we integrate AI to digitize and automate home data workflows.

• Design and implement robust, secure, and efficient AWS solutions, including APIs, databases, serverless logic, and AI-powered services
• Work closely with product managers and CTO to understand our customers needs and the design decisions of the product
• Integrate and deploy AI/ML services (e.g. Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Rekognition, or third-party APIs)
• Optimize backend code for performance and scale, including AI inference pipelines
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define APIs that support AI-enhanced features
• Rapidly iterating on the product with our home data collection team to optimize the process of collecting and digitizing home data through intelligent automation
• Guide the team in making pragmatic technical trade-offs, especially around integrating ML models
• Develop a deep understanding of the home inspection and move-in experience, building intelligent products that simplify the journey for millions of new homeowners each year

 Experience Level of a Successful Candidate

• 5+ years of AWS serverless hands-on development and architecture experience implementing Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript
• AWS CDK and Serverless framework
• Proficiency with microservices and *event-driven architecture *
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Proven experience in product-oriented software development
• Comfortable working with AI/ML APIs or services
• Bonus: Experience integrating LLM-based APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, etc.) for summarization, recommendations, or classification
• Solid understanding of testing strategies and CI/CD
• Familiarity with API/event documentation tools (OpenAPI, EventCatalog)
• The initiative to fix something that’s broken, rather than waiting for someone else to do it
• Strong written and spoken communication skills (in English)
