If you have a strong eye for detail, a love of storytelling, and a drive to create meaningful and innovative work, we want to hear from you. This is an incredible opportunity for a talented designer with experience in UI and editorial design. You’re comfortable working across different mediums – from presentation design to videos and animations, across online and print – and know how to make each shine. You’ll be at the heart of a collaborative, curious, and talented team, working alongside editors, researchers, and fellow designers to deliver exceptional creative solutions.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Copy and Production and our Senior Graphic Designer, as a Mid-Weight Designer, you’ll be at the heart of shaping and elevating the Canvas8 Membership experience. You’ll take ownership of the visual quality across our platform, ensuring everything from imagery to layouts feels cohesive, considered, and on-brand. Whether it’s designing assets for events, refining article visuals, or enhancing the way our content is presented, your work will help bring our insights to life in meaningful and engaging ways.

You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in larger creative projects, collaborating with teams across Design, Innovation, and Development to rethink formats, improve user journeys, and contribute to standout campaigns and reports. This is a role for someone who’s not only confident in their craft but also curious, collaborative, and excited to make a lasting impact through thoughtful, culturally connected design.

Day-to-day

  • Own the design of the Membership platform, content and products, ensuring everything from imagery to pay layouts are considered and on-brand
  • Ensure our visuals – from photography to videos to branding concepts – bring our insights to life
  • Maintain a design system, and work with our Innovation and Development team to elevate the platform and our offer
  • Refine and improve design templates, enhancing the quality and consistency of our creative outputs
  • Work with the wider Design team on bigger-scale projects, like our annual trends report
  • Manage your time well and deliver consistently strong work

About you

We’re looking for a designer with a strong passion for insight and human understanding. You care deeply about the work we do and the stories we tell. You’re naturally curious, eager to explore new ideas, and committed to understanding human behaviour and the motivations behind it. You take pride in creating work that looks beautiful but also serves a greater purpose, enhancing the clarity and impact of our insights.

You’re a flexible and adaptable team player, comfortable working with shifting priorities and managing multiple projects at once. Your excellent time management and clear communication skills help you collaborate effectively with diverse teams, ensuring smooth workflows and high-quality outputs.

Requirement

  • 4+ years of experience in graphic design
  • Proven experience in UI and editorial design, particularly working with complex information and research (e.g. semiotics, data)
  • Strong command of core design principles
  • Fluency in Adobe Suite, Figma, PowerPoint/Slides – knowledge of AI-enabled tools is a plus
  • Experience in visual and creative direction, ideally in a similar industry or insight projects
  • Exposure to diverse design practices (e.g. film, print, digital, branding, editorial)
  • Strong project management skills, including time management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
