The Graphic Designer will support the communication efforts of the Comm Department to carry out the vision and mission of Citizens Church. This role requires someone who is passionate about the impact of ministry at the church, creatively gifted and experienced in all facets of production and design. Deliverables and tasks in this role will vary and have been laid out in more detail below.

Position: Full-time | Salaried

Work Week: Monday – Friday

Location:  Plano, Texas

Reports To: Communications Director

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing and Producing Visuals:  Creating high-quality visuals for various media, including print, digital, multimedia, and social platforms.
• Layout and Production Design:  Developing the overall layout and production design for sermon series, weekend slides, flyers, brochures, t-shirts, social media graphics, websites, video graphics, and other print and digital media as needed.
• Logo and Illustration Creation:  Designing logos, original images, and illustrations to convey the ministry message.
• Software Proficiency:  Utilizing digital illustration, photo editing, and layout software to create designs.
• Ministry Interaction: Meeting with ministries to discuss project scope, presenting design concepts, and incorporating feedback.
• Project Management:  Managing deadlines of multiple projects, coordinating with other teams, and overseeing print or digital production.
• Brand Guidelines:  Following and maintaining brand standards, including color schemes, font choices, and design styles.
• Collaboration:  Working under the leadership of the Communications Director as well as copywriters, editors, and other creative professionals to bring a cohesive visual message.
• Staying Current:  Researching industry trends and learning new software and tools to stay current with design practices.

STAFF REQUIREMENTS

• Spend regular time in the Word
• Pray for Citizens Church and its people
• Attend all-staff meetings and events
• Support other ministries and attend church anchor events
• Attend regular one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design and video editing tools.
• Strong eye for layout, typography, and branding.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to receive and implement feedback with humility and creativity.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and able to manage shifting priorities.
