Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to Independent candidates to run their campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively.

A majority of eligible voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. GoodParty.org is the solution. In 2024 we empowered 3,444 Independent candidate wins across 48 states from all across the ideological spectrum. The main things the elected officials we empower have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. In 2024, 40.3 million votes (26% of all voters) cast a ballot for our candidate users. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla),GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and iterate on human-in-the-loop AI applications that leverage large language models (LLMs), vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Use your skills with React, NextJS, DataBricks, Python, and Postgres to enhance our existing open-source products on AWS.
• Rapidly learn new domains and apply AI and machine learning methods to enhance campaign and civic technology products.
• Conduct structured experimentation to diagnose problems, validate solutions, and communicate findings effectively.
• Evaluate emerging AI frameworks and tools (including MCP and agentic systems) for integration into production environments.

Who we’re looking for:

• You’re up for the audacious challenge of driving money out of politics and democratizing democracy.
• You’re a computer scientist or engineer with strong technical training who loves solving backend and/or data problems.
• Practical experience with LLM integration in web, mobile, and backend systems, prompt engineering, RAG workflows, and agentic AI systems.
• Experience creating robust automated data pipelines including vector databases and ETL systems that facilitate real-time analytics and reporting.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, experimental environments with short iteration cycles.
• Enthusiasm for continuous improvement of your team’s engineering system, code quality, processes, and tools
• Proven track record with 1+ years of relevant full-time work experience, ideally within a fast-paced 0-to-1 environment.
• Committed to responsible and ethical AI development, with awareness of model limitations, bias, and performance considerations.
• Effective collaborator who can work cross-functionally and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus if:

• You’ve demonstrated domain expertise by achievement of a relevant secondary degree.
• You’ve built or scaled AI functions in prior roles.
• You’ve worked in civic tech, political campaigns, or democracy-focused initiatives and understand the unique challenges of this space.
• You have prior experience as a contributor to an open source project
• You want to help make people matter more than money in politics

The salary range is $140,000 – $170,000 for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. This range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, seniority, education, qualifications, certifications, and organizational needs. We reserve the right to modify this pay range at any time.
