Description of the offer

 What is Shibuya?
A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya is a seed-stage “software label.” We make music products for the next generation of creators. Our flagship app is a real-time music playground – think social meets studio meets game engine.

Founded by Spotify’s Head of Innovation, Máuhan M Zonoozy (2x exits), we’ve assembled a cracked team of award-winning creative technologists from Google, Zynga, and TikTok. We’re VC-backed by NFX, Mantis, BoxGroup, SV Angel, Gold House, Quiet Capital, et al. We love music and we’re very plugged in.

/ Who You Are
You’re not just a designer. You’re a world-builder. You think in grids, textures, and interactions. You know how to make a UI feel like a toy, a tool, and a vibe – at the same time. You obsess over how things feel. You believe product design is performance art. You have “gamefeel” tattooed on your forehead. You have:

  • 5+ years designing consumer-facing mobile products, including at a startup (required)
  • Singularly designed product(s) from inception all the way to 1M+ users with speed and craft
  • Fleuncy in Figma, and dabble in 3D, motion, prototyping tools, and creative coding
  • Fluency in AI tools in order to ship faster and better
  • A unique aesthetic – but know how to adapt and build a scalable design system
  • A bias to action and speed above all else
  • Love music, design, subcultures, and the internet

/ What You’ll Do

  • Define the visual and interaction language of our product(s)
  • Design real-time music interfaces that feel tactile, emotional, and expressive
  • Own end-to-end product design: UX, UI, motion, brand, system, micro-interactions, and copy
  • Collaborate daily with product, eng, and CEO to bring weird ideas to life
  • Help invent a new format for music expression – and make it feel inevitable

/ Why Shibuya?
You’ll be on the founding team of a company that reshapes how people create music. You’ll have autonomy, ownership, and creative collaboration – and the chance to cement your personal lore. Plus:

  • $125K–250K base + generous equity + unlimited PTO + health/vision/dental coverage
  • IRL: beautiful creative spaces, deep love for music, and the best playlists on the internet
  • A team of freakishly talented people who move fast and actually care

Must be willing to work full-time in-office, startup hours, non-negotiable. Please no remote work or 9-5 mentalities.
