Our mission is to push the bounds of human creativity. To that end, A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya Inc. (“Shibuya”) is building a new, interactive music platform for the next generation of young creators (powered by AI).

Founded by Spotify’s Head of Innovation, Máuhan M Zonoozy, and award-winning creative technologists from Apple and Google, Shibuya is proudly backed by some of the world’s best venture capital firms (Mantis, NFX, BoxGroup, SV Angel, Gold House, Quiet Capital, et al); executives from Spotify, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Warner and Sony Music; and several Grammy Award-winning artists and managers.

/ Sounds great, but why me?
You are one of the most technically proficient, creative, and ambitious designers in the world – no project is too big nor too small, and “impossible” is nothing but a vegetarian meat substitute. Must-have qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in consumer mobile UX/UI, interaction design, and/or game design;
• Experience going “0 to 1” (e.g., building a product from idea to 1M+ users or $1M ARR);
• Prolific visual designer with a knack for sticky, intuitive UI and an extreme bias for action (a “do-er”);
• Gifted at dreaming up and prototyping (concept-to-code) new interfaces and interaction models;
• Preferred: 3D design literacy in addition to 2D mastery – experience with 3D graphic and content generation (parametric), e.g., Three.js, Spline, After Effects, Rhino/Grasshopper, Unity, Blender;
• Preferred: Code literacy (at least front-end);
• Love for culture, technology, and music – and a sense of humor.

/ And what exactly do you want me to do…?
As our Founding Designer, you’ll fill a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our product and company. You’ll be an energetic thought partner, hands-on contributor, and tireless innovator, responsible for:

• Translate Vision to Product Design: Translate vision into tangible, sticky product experiences and execute building them in partnership with the product and engineering team;
• End-to-End UX/UI: Create screens, visual assets, and user experience across the user journey;
• Design + Code: Work with engineering to make design fit in seamlessly with product, ideally providing hands-on support by way of front-end coding and interaction design;
• Culture Setting: Contribute to an exceptionally high-performing company culture and a working environment that promotes culture, creativity, technology, and play.
