About The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our sales team and drive pipeline growth through strategic outbound prospecting. You’ll be responsible for identifying and engaging decision-makers at Fortune 500 organizations, generating qualified opportunities for our Account Executives.

As a BDR at Cypris, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our future customers. This role combines disciplined outreach execution with the curiosity to understand complex R&D workflows and the intelligence to articulate how Cypris transforms them. You’ll work closely with sales leadership to refine targeting strategies and messaging that resonates with technical buyers.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities among target accounts through a multi-channel approach including cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, and personalized email sequences
  • Consistently meet and exceed weekly and monthly qualified opportunity targets
  • Research target accounts to identify key stakeholders, understand their R&D priorities, and craft relevant outreach that speaks to their specific challenges
  • Qualify inbound leads and route them appropriately based on fit and urgency
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM, ensuring clean data and reliable pipeline reporting
  • Develop a deep understanding of Cypris’s platform, competitive landscape, and the R&D intelligence market to have credible conversations with technical buyers
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoffs and provide context that accelerates deal progression
  • Provide feedback to marketing on messaging effectiveness and campaign performance based on prospect conversations
  • Continuously refine your outreach approach through testing, iteration, and learning from what resonates

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in B2B sales development, preferably in SaaS or enterprise software
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline targets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound activity including cold calling
  • Experience with sales tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar
  • Coachable and hungry to improve, with a growth mindset and resilience in the face of rejection
  • Organized and disciplined in managing daily workflows and follow-up cadences
  • Genuine curiosity about technology and willingness to learn complex product domains
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where process is still being built and ownership is expected

  • Background in or exposure to scientific or technical industries (materials, life sciences, aerospace, etc.)

  • Previous success in an early-stage startup where you helped build the sales playbook
