Construction Robotics Startup
Marlboro, NJ
Full-Time · Onsite · Immediate Start

We build autonomous construction equipment that operates on active job sites. Our robots run in dust, vibration, noise, and constantly changing environments. This is not lab robotics, not simulation-only work, and not a research role.

This position is for someone who has already deployed robotics software on real hardware and can contribute immediately.

This is not a training role.
What You Will Own Immediately

Robotics & Autonomy (ROS2 on Jetson)
Take ownership of existing ROS2 (Humble) systems running on NVIDIA Jetson

Diagnose and fix:
SLAM and localization drift
Nav2 planners, controllers, and recovery behaviors
TF trees, timing, and frame alignment issues
Tune autonomy for unstructured, real-world environments

Perception & Control
Extend and harden computer vision pipelines (OpenCV, RGB/depth cameras)
Improve alignment, verification, and placement accuracy
Tune motion and manipulation control loops for reliability
Ensure graceful degradation instead of hard failures

Jetson ↔ Teensy Integration
Work across:
Linux + ROS2 on Jetson
Firmware and serial/CAN communication with Teensy
Debug dropped packets, jitter, blocking loops, blocking loops, and power noise
Add diagnostics, watchdogs, and field-ready logging

Field Reality
Run your code on physical robots daily
Debug in the shop and on job sites
Fix issues under real time pressure

Absolute Requirements
You must already have:
ROS2 experience on physical robots
Strong Python and/or C++ used in robotics systems
Hands-on deployment on Jetson-class hardware
Practical computer vision experience beyond tutorials
Comfort debugging across software, firmware, and hardware
Ability to work full-time onsite in Marlboro, NJ
Immediate availability

Strong Signals You’re a Fit
You’ve fixed SLAM or Nav2 issues on real hardware
You’ve debugged TF or timing bugs in ROS
You’ve shipped robotics software people relied on
You prefer shipping over publishing

Explicitly Not This Role
Entry-level or training-seeking candidates
Simulation-only or coursework-only ROS experience
Remote or hybrid applicants
If you need ramp-up time or structured training, this role is not a fit.

Work Authorization
Open to OPT / STEM OPT
No immediate visa sponsorship required
Must already be authorized for full-time work in the U.S.
Must work onsite in Marlboro, NJ
