Job Title: Senior Full Stack Developer
Location: Edmonton, AB – (Remote, with occasional travel)
Employment Type: Contract – 12 Months + Possible 24-Month Extension
Hours: 36.25 hours/week | Approximately 1,805 approved hours
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Full Stack Developers to support digital transformation and service innovation initiatives. The successful candidates will work within cross-functional Agile teams to research, design, develop, test, deploy, and continuously improve modern digital services.
This role requires strong full-stack development experience, hands-on work with modern frontend/backend technologies, automated testing, databases, CI/CD, and the ability to contribute to reusable and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in technical discovery, research, and user-focused development activities.
- Lead technical discovery and produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and related artifacts.
- Design and develop scalable features and modern digital services.
- Identify and resolve functional and non-functional defects.
- Improve code quality, development tooling, documentation, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with UX, service design, and frontend teams to deliver consistent user experiences.
- Advise Product Owners on technical options and implementation approaches.
- Support application deployment, releases, and production launches.
- Develop reusable components and shared technical capabilities.
- Support legacy modernization across multiple releases.
- Contribute to CI/CD practices and automated testing.
- Mentor/onboard technical team members and continuously improve development practices.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent education may be considered.
- 15+ years of experience using Git/source control in collaborative software development.
- 13+ years of automated unit and integration testing.
- 13+ years working with relational databases and other database technologies.
- 15+ years as a Full Stack Developer working on complex software solutions in Agile environments.
- 13+ years working with production applications using modern application and frontend JavaScript frameworks.
- 12+ years modernizing legacy systems into digital services across multiple releases.
- 1+ year using Generative AI and agentic tools, including prompt design, RAG, AI-assisted workflows, and critical evaluation of AI outputs.
- 12+ years with one or more of the following technology stacks:
- Frontend: Angular, React, Vue.js
- Backend: C#/.NET Core, Node.js/NestJS/Express, Python/Django
- 12+ years applying software design patterns and architecture principles.
- 12+ years working with CI/CD pipelines.
- 12+ years working with UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design teams.
