About the Role
We are hiring a Sales Development Manager to lead our team of BDRs/SDRs. This is not a stepping-stone to AE. This is a high-impact, people-first leadership role focused on hiring, coaching, and scaling a world-class outbound (and inbound) motion.
You will work closely with Marketing and Sales Leadership to ensure consistent pipeline creation and qualification. You’re someone who has been in the trenches as a BDR or AE but found your calling in helping others succeed.
What You’ll Own
• Team Building & Leadership
o Hire, onboard, and manage a team of high-performing BDRs.
o Foster a culture of curiosity, consistency, and accountability.
o Set weekly priorities, run 1:1s, and drive performance across the funnel.
• Training & Coaching
o Create and continuously refine onboarding materials, talk tracks, and playbooks.
o Coach reps on messaging, cold outreach, objection handling, and qualification skills.
o Jump in on strategy sessions and even live calls to support reps when needed.
• Process & Pipeline Strategy
o Own outbound and inbound qualification strategies and tools.
o Partner with Marketing and Sales to optimize MQL → SQL conversion.
o Analyze BDR data and performance trends to guide coaching and strategy.
• Cross-Functional Leadership
o Work with Marketing to align campaigns and outbound targeting.
o Collaborate with Sales to ensure a smooth handoff and closed-loop feedback.
o Partner with Ops on CRM hygiene, automation, and enablement tooling.
Who You Are
• You have managed BDRs or SDRs and enjoyed it enough to do it again.
• You have worked in SaaS or tech sales and understand the outbound grind.
• You are energized by helping others succeed not just crushing your own number.
• You care about quality outreach, not just hitting dial quotas.
• You bring a coach’s mindset: patient, tactical, and always leveling up your team.
• You want a long-term seat at the table in a growing company — not a temporary gig before becoming an AE.
Requirements
• 5+ years experience in sales or sales development (including at least 1 year managing team of BDRs/SDRs).
• Proven track record of building, leading, and coaching successful SDR/BDR teams.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce) and sales engagement platforms (e.g. Outreach, Apollo, Salesloft).
• Exceptional communication, EQ, and coaching skills.
• Bonus: Experience in a startup or high-growth SaaS environment.
