The Role

We’re looking for a Design Lead to join our Creative team. In this role, Design Leads at Warren James are responsible for managing the creative process for a wide range of projects. This includes assigning work to freelancers, managing creative decks, and working closely with the creative director, brand managers, and product development teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of work and a passion for creating on-trend designs that resonate with a wide range of target audiences.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assign and manage work for a team of freelancers, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Create and manage creative decks for various projects, including merch drops, product development, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the creative director and other stakeholders to align creative vision and strategy across different projects.
  • Organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, brand management, and marketing, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve the quality of work produced by the team.
  • Interface with clients / creators, maintaining clear and professional communication
  • Design effectively, with a particular emphasis on typography and visual communication principles

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in a Design Lead role or equivalent.
  • Product/Merchandise knowledge and/or experience
  • Strong portfolio of work demonstrating experience in art direction and design.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent typography skills
  • Graphic Design background
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or equivalent
  • Experience working with creators/influencers.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60k–$75k based on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (WJ covers 99% of employee premium and 50% for
  • dependents for health & dental)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 4% of salary retirement plan contribution
  • Cell phone and gym allowance of $50 each per month
