duration: 20-40 seconds

copy/text: supplied, (however open to ideas too)

sound design: can be supplied by us or you.

we want at least our own logo to be fully deconstructed/reconstructed using geometric lines and then all of the other symbolic motion graphics/patterns/images draw inspiration off of our logo and its component shapes

then to have other animations to bring the other logos or our other work to life in some way.

The final videos need to elevate the brand image – aim to energise, excite and convey confidence.

Lead Motion Graphics Designer | Remote Jobs in Los Angeles

First off, this description is a wishlist, not a checklist. We want to find a super-amazing person to join our team, and we’re well aware that “super-amazing” can come in all different forms. If you’re a little less experienced on a specific bullet point, or if you didn’t go to a fancy school, apply anyway. We look at candidates, not resumes.

About Us

Nebula is a sort of talent management agency and production company for thoughtful YouTubers and podcasters. We do a lot of things, so it’s hard to explain it all in a single paragraph, but our mission is to empower independent creators. Most of our time is spent talking or working with the creators directly, one on one or in a group, coming up with better tools and toys for them.

We’re a distributed company. We have offices in NYC and Denver, but more than 50% of the team is remote, in exotic locations like the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Ohio.

There are things to do and meetings to be had, but we pride ourselves on our flexibility. We think this makes Nebula a great place to work for people with families, or whose productive hours tend to be outside of the 9-5. We care about what you do more than when you do it.

About the Role

Standard is looking for a Lead Motion Graphics Designer to join our production team. Your responsibilities include designing and management of Motion Graphics team for the following types of content: longer-form narrative content, short-form YouTube content, internal video content, brand-specific spots, marketing materials, and sizzle reels. You’ll be expected to work efficiently, keep to tight deadlines, communicate effectively and professionally to produce quality work. Additionally as Lead Motion Graphics Designer you would be responsible to supervise the other Motion Designers and set standards and procedures for all edit work.

Our ideal candidate is someone with great creative instincts who can think independently about how to convey information in a dynamic and original way. There will also be a 60-day performance probationary period starting from the date of you joining.

Responsibilities

  • Help oversee and supervise the motion graphics team and set process and techniques along with the Studios Technical Director
  • Create visually and intellectually engaging content
  • Raise the bar creatively, delivering ever-better, best-in-class cuts & elements that surprises and delights our audience
  • Set the standard and serve a resource for the rest of studios staff
  • Experience with designing and laying in GFX/VFX
  • Receive and apply feedback with an open-mind, creative spirit
  • Tackle problems within a team setting, or individually
  • Has skills to work collaboratively and independently
  • Work under pressure and within tight deadlines on multiple concurrent projects while being flexible to changing business and technical conditions
  • Edit in both a supervised and unsupervised capacity
  • Passionate storyteller who is committed to producing exceptional work
  • Flexibility to adapt with changing timelines and deliverables

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7+ years experience in Motion Design + Management for educational media projects
  • 5-7+ years experience with Adobe After Effects
  • 3-5+ years experience in 3D animation and software, including, C4D and Blender.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Experience managing a team of creative staff
  • Exceptionally organized in digital asset management and systems
  • Proficient in Motion Graphics techniques, workflows, and tools
  • Proficient of post production workflows and techniques

  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • A good eye for design
  • Ability to dive in and bring your creativity to any project

Perks

  • Competitive salary between $75,000-$80,000 USD or local international equivalent. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. • Flexible work hours and vacation policy.
  • Diverse, socially-minded team of nice people.

How We Hire

We think that diversity is important. Many of us have non-traditional backgrounds. We work in the online education space, so we understand how much can be learned on your own, on the Internet, outside of a classroom.

We’re looking for people who are curious and passionate. Our team should be made up of people of all sorts of backgrounds, gender identities, and bodies who can help to expand our perspective and improve our ability to treat our creators and our audience with thoughtfulness and empathy.

If that sounds like you, we’re happy to care less how many years of experience you have or where you went to school. Apply anyway. And if you have any feedback on how we could reach or appeal to a more diverse pool of talent, get in touch.
