We are seeking a UX-focused professional to support the redesign and ongoing management of an internal organization website. The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with user-centered design and strong written and verbal communication skills. They should be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, translating feedback into meaningful design improvements, and managing communications initiatives alongside website responsibilities. This is an opportunity for a self-starter who is curious about emerging AI tools and interested in finding new ways to improve efficiency and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support the redesign of an internal organization website, with a focus on understanding and improving the grant maker user journey and overall user experience.
  • Conduct user-centered design activities, including reviewing existing site structures, identifying usability challenges, developing user flows, and recommending improvements.
  • Create or refine wireframes, page layouts, and other UX deliverables to communicate design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify needs, incorporate feedback, and coordinate website updates.
  • Support ongoing website maintenance, content organization, and usability improvements following the initial redesign.
  • Manage monthly organizational newsletters by gathering updates, refining content, coordinating approvals, and distributing communications.
  • Draft, edit, and refine written communications to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to collect information, resolve open questions, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Explore and use AI tools to improve productivity, streamline workflows, support content development, and identify new applications of AI within day-to-day work.
  • Balance website design and maintenance responsibilities with communications and project coordination initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in UX design, user-centered design, website design, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, improving, or restructuring websites with a focus on usability and user experience.
  • Experience developing user flows, wireframes, page layouts, or other UX design deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear, polished, and audience-appropriate content.
  • Strong visual design sensibilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to gather requirements, ask clarifying questions, synthesize feedback, and translate user and stakeholder needs into actionable improvements.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive tasks forward with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable balancing website-related work with communications and project coordination responsibilities.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours.

The range for this position is $80,000-$87,000/year (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
