Job Responsibilities: The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing localized social media strategies that drive community engagement, brand awareness, and audience growth across Marathon Live’s portfolio of brands to help achieve the company’s mission and goals. This role emphasizes market-specific storytelling and on-the-ground content creation to position each brand as a cultural hub within its community.

Duties: Duties listed below, are not limited to, but are expected areas of concern for the Social Media Manager.

  • Social Media Marketing – The Social Media Manager is responsible for creating and publishing social media content for all Marathon Live brands as well as monitoring customer interactions (comments, direct messages etc.) and responding accordingly when applicable. The Social Media Manager will be required to balance incoming content from multiple sources and maintain a consistent brand voice for each brand.
  • House Photography Program – The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing the house photography program for each venue. The Social Media Manager will coordinate with volunteer photographers and Marathon Live General Managers to ensure live photos are captured and filed for Marathon Live use.
  • Content Creators – The Social Media Manager is responsible for identifying local content creators in each venue market and coordinating boots-on-the-ground content creation with the objective of local community engagement.
  • Communication– The Social Media Manager is expected to communicate with key members of Marathon Live to ensure all Communication Department goals & initiatives are being properly & effectively managed. The Social Media Manager will work closely with the Marketing Manager to publish content for newly announced and upcoming events and is expected to follow the publishing schedules of announces as dictated by each artist team or event client.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of all Social Media platforms and any necessary 3rd party applications required for social media management
  • Ability to manage multiple brands’ accounts and assets in a way that accurately represents them to their community
  • Knowledge of social media trends and the ability to create content that generates strong engagement.
  • Ability to multi-task and reach accelerated and long term deadlines
  • Highly organized and able to manage and schedule incoming content from multiple sources
  • Knowledge of live music and event industry a plus
  • Copywriting that supports customer retention and keeps each brand’s audience engaged
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Minimum Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 3 years digital marketing experience
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications
