Role Description

This is a remote, contract Filmmaker role. The Filmmaker will collaborate with writers, producers, and other creatives to develop, direct, and produce short- and long-form video and film projects. Daily responsibilities include interpreting scripts, planning shots, coordinating production schedules, and overseeing on-set activities to ensure creative vision and technical quality. The Filmmaker will manage or supervise post-production workflows, including editing, sound, and visual assets, and provide feedback to maintain narrative cohesion. The role also involves regular communication with a distributed team, meeting deadlines, and adapting to varying project scopes and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Film Direction and Scriptwriting skills for shaping narrative and visual storytelling.
  • Candidates should possess Film Production and Video Production skills for managing shoots, crews, and technical setups.
  • Candidates should possess Post-Production skills, including familiarity with editing workflows and collaboration with post teams.
  • Experience working with diverse and underrepresented talent and stories is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency with common filmmaking tools and software (e.g., cameras, lighting, editing applications) is preferred.
  • Strong communication, time management, and remote collaboration skills are required.
  • Previous credits in film, television, or digital media, and a portfolio or reel showcasing relevant work, are advantageous.
