arth Archetypes is a storytelling-focused organization dedicated to making climate narratives more accessible, relatable, and human-centered. The team creates characters and stories that help people recognize their own experiences and relationships within the broader climate conversation. By reframing climate as a shared story rather than a distant crisis, Earth Archetypes seeks to foster dialogue that is socially safe and emotionally resonant. The work emphasizes connection, community, and relationship over fear or technical expertise, inviting diverse audiences to engage with climate issues in meaningful ways.
Role Description
The Video Editor is for a specific webseries called “How on Earth? LIVE!”.
This style is a blend of humor and heart:
* social impact entertainment (so keeping the audience top of mind is key!)
* The View meets Queer Eye (I have a great podcast interview with the QE DP
* The 10 yo & 10 million subscriber YouTube channel Yes Theory (which I have a podcast interview with the founder).
The distribution channel for these episodes is YouTube. So elements that make a YT video successful are top of mind. For example, episodes lead with a hook not an establishing shot.
I have a set budget to edit the full episode from live footage of the premiere during CWNYC 2025 and a performance at SFCW 2026. I will have a brand guide to consider for all episodes and then a specific guide for each episode based on the circumstances of that show (theme, location, cameras). Both brand guides will evolve during this phase as well as from feedback/engagement on YouTube and other social channels.
After these 2, we will have a more standardized process for me to get finishing funds for the 3 more episodes I have in the can as well as a month’s worth of second screen content that goes with each episode.
To get a sense of the project, check out the 3 trailers I’ve edited so far: https://www.youtube.com/@eartharchetypes
