Job Overview & Description

Senior Designer, Creative & Brand Designer

~20 Hours/Week – Flexible Hours

The Sage Group’s client, a cutting-edge cyber security company who operates at the intersection of cyber innovation, national security, and technology-driven transformation, is seeking a Senior Designer, Brand & Creative to help bring the brand to life across campaigns, digital experiences, content, events, and sales materials. This role is U.S.-based, requiring several hours of daily overlap with Eastern business hours.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Creative & Brand, translating creative direction into thoughtful, polished work while bringing your own point of view to the work. We’re looking for someone who can take a brief, understand the intent behind it, and push the work forward — not simply execute what’s on the page.

Primary Duty & Responsibilities

Brand & Campaigns

  • Develop campaign concepts and extend them across digital, social, email, landing pages, events, and other marketing surfaces.
  • Design high-quality marketing materials, including one-pagers, presentations, reports, infographics, and content assets.
  • Design and refresh web pages, campaign experiences, and other digital touchpoints.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Merlin’s visual expression, translating the brand into distinctive, ownable creative.
  • Translate complex cybersecurity concepts into clear, compelling visual communication.
  • Partner with the Director of Creative & Brand to develop concepts, challenge briefs when needed, and strengthen the work.
  • Balance multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high bar for craft and consistency.

Systems & Scale

  • Build templates, components, and repeatable design systems that help the broader team move quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Apply, champion, and evolve our brand standards as new creative needs emerge.
  • Maintain organized working files and reusable assets that support an efficient creative workflow.
  • Use AI and emerging tools where they can accelerate exploration or production.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or integrated design, with a portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and exceptional visual craft.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Canva.
  • Command of layout, typography, composition, and presentation design, with the ability to create cohesive, high-craft work across a range of formats and channels.
  • The ability to take a creative brief — even an imperfect one — and turn it into a clear visual idea, asking the right questions along the way.
  • Experience working within brand systems, with the judgment to know when to follow the system, when to stretch it, and how to do both intentionally.
  • A strong point of view. You can explain the thinking behind your work, respond constructively to feedback, and contribute ideas rather than waiting for direction.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment, managing multiple priorities, and communicating proactively.

Nice to have

  • Experience in cybersecurity, B2B tech, SaaS, or federal markets.
  • Motion, animation, or video editing capabilities (Riverside, After Effects, or Premier).
  • Experience building Figma component libraries or shared libraries for a team.
  • Illustration or other complementary creative skills.
  • Experience working with a brand through a period of growth, evolution, or transformation.

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in how the company’s creative expression evolves.
