Role Description

The Social Media Manager + Website Maintenance Coordinator volunteer role is an on-site position based in Costa Rica. This role is responsible for planning and publishing social media content, engaging with the online community, and optimizing social media channels to increase visibility and audience growth. Day-to-day tasks include creating posts, coordinating content calendars, monitoring analytics, and collaborating on campaign ideas that reflect Kula’s programs and values. The position also involves basic website updates, such as editing pages, refreshing visuals, checking links and functionality, and ensuring that program information is accurate and current. This volunteer role offers the opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organization while gaining hands-on experience in digital communication and web presence management.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) skills for managing and growing digital channels.
  • Candidates should possess Communication and Writing skills to create clear, engaging, and inclusive content.
  • Candidates should possess Content Strategy skills to plan, organize, and align messaging with program goals.
  • Basic website maintenance skills (e.g., CMS familiarity, updating pages, managing media) are highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working on-site in Costa Rica, with reliability, time management, and the ability to collaborate in a small, mission-driven team.
  • Interest in wellness, personal development, or spiritual growth, and willingness to learn Kula’s methodologies.
  • Previous experience in social media coordination, digital marketing, or community management is an asset but not mandatory.
