Position Overview

The Website Manager will focus on the following areas: website strategy, management of cityyear.org and all its subsidiary websites, SEO strategy and content development. This individual will also play an integral role in identifying our target audiences, creating an online brand image, and creating and maintaining digital marketing campaigns for the internet and for digital technologies. Digital marketing includes social media platforms, web analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), e-mail marketing, and websites.

Job Description

This role will work with in close collaboration with the digital marketing, brand, creative and communications teams, as well as other internal business teams and local content authors across the organization, to support the development of effective marketing campaigns online, and to translate business goals into successful marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day maintenance and content development on National cityyear.org website and local City Year site websites
  • Act as marketing’s expert on technologies & trends within the digital space and advise on best practices and emerging platforms so City Year can continue to innovate
  • Project manage website integration and enhancement projects
  • Project manage, in collaboration with our alumni department, the migration of alumni.cityyear.org into City Year’s main site.
  • Collaborate with the creative design team to improve the user experience, design, content and lead/donation conversions of the website
  • Manage website requests from our local content authors and designing training and job aids to support them in their website work
  • Schedule blog content and optimize for SEO to deliver on team’s KPIs and goals.
  • Develop and implement SEO strategies for the organization, optimizing website to advance marketing goals
  • Crisis management and mass communications to the network during site outages or critical errors
  • Identify and report monthly on trends in blog and website traffic on website as well as progress to team goals.
  • Support all online marketing functions including but not limited to: marketing automation, email marketing, social media, and paid and organic campaigns to help build awareness, generate leads and deliver KPIs.
  • Manage relationships with Pantheon agency partners to ensure functionality of the website is at optimal levels.
  • Act as a website support partner for cityyear.org.uk, up to five hours per month.

Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding and day-to-day experience of content management systems (CMS), web analytics programs, basic HTML, marketing automation platforms, and social media channels. (Drupal, Google Analytics and Marketo experience a plus)
  • Highly creative and passionate about finding new, compelling ways to reach and communicate to external audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement integrated digital strategies that consistently exceed planned objectives.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills.
  • Exceptional project & time management skills.
  • Able to work with people at all levels of an organization.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years in digital marketing or website management.
  • CMS management on WordPress platform
  • Passion to learn, drive and ambition to succeed, and a willingness to jump into projects with enthusiasm and helpfulness
  • Able to analyze large amounts of information and data
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Critical thinking

Location: Remote, flexible
