Description of the offer

We are looking for a Product Design Manager to join the Product team. In this role you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions that deliver outstanding user experiences that provide tangible value to customers and internal stakeholders.

This position reports to the VP of Product Management and works closely with the Residential Experience and Tellis Product Team, which has ownership of Ivy’s external facing products and services including Ivy Solar Billing, Ivy Solar EV Billing, Ivy Resident Portal as well as Trellis, our internal account management & billing platform.

Ideal location for the role is San Diego, CA. Remote may be a possibility for the right candidate.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 based on experience.

Requirements

You will be working with product management and the broader product team to create and deliver engaging, usable, and impactful user experiences by developing a deep understanding of Ivy’s products, clients, and users to develop user personas, journey maps, prototypes, and testing. You will be taking complex data and technical solutions and turning them into easy to understand solutions that empower residents to manage their energy costs and to be part of a community contributing to helping the environment. You will be collaborating with the product discovery and engineering team in sprint planning, grooming, and daily standups to help translate your designs into functional solutions in an agile environment.

  • Partnering with the Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to define problems & goals, map user flows, prototype interactions, and help launch new products and services
  • Planning and conducting user research and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager to design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences across the entire customer journey
  • Taking a user-centered design approach to rapidly test usability and iterate your designs.
  • Working inside of an agile product planning process
  • Contributing accessible UI components, patterns, and documentation for future Ivy products
  • Working closely with the Product Manager to foster a culture of inclusive design by collaborating on the development of solutions that consider the needs of all users
  • Helping to remain consistent across a variety of products and platforms in the end-to-end user experience

 

Your Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, computer science or in a related field
  • Six or more years of UX design experience
  • A portfolio showcasing past design work and projects
  • Excellent visual, interaction and/or service design skill
  • Ability to think systemically and understand how different parts of a product or service fit together to create the overall user experience
  • Familiarity and experience with standard design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Miro, Sketch & Invision is required
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions across functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguous environments, including adapting to new challenges, scenarios, and working style
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
  • Show passion for all things UX, as well as other areas of design and innovation, by continuously researching and showcasing knowledge in the latest trends and technologies
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to meet project deadlines

 

Additionally Desired

  • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
  • Experience in designing for accessibility, and familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Experience with financial products, distributed renewable energy, or billing services
  • Experience building and leading UX Teams in a startup environment
