Job Summary
Working in the learning design team, alongside the wider L&D team, to manage the learning design aspects of our client projects
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to communications with L&D account managers, medical writers, and content creators on using best practice in instructional design throughout the learning programme lifecycle
- Develop and/or maintain awareness of accessibility and inclusion needs for learners and ensure these are considered throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the day-to-day analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid learning programmes
- Work with medical writers and content creators to produce bite-sized, impactful learning resources, materials, platforms, events, and learner journeys that contribute to an impactful and effective learning experience.
- Attend client meetings to identify innovative and practical best-fit learning solutions to meet client needs, critical success factors, key performance indicators, and future returns on investment.
- Adapt learning design approaches to suit global client brands, needs, and disease and therapy areas
- Brief partner teams such a digital, studio, and editorial on their roles in adding value to training materials that take into account learner experience needs as well as branding and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to solving problems with your team and with clients regarding the intersections of instructional design best-practice, client needs and expectations, budgets, and timelines
- Review learning programmes, resources, and materials in draft stages and undertake build-comparisons to ensure a high-quality learner experience
- Support timely delivery of projects
- Contribute to ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle
- Work independently and collaboratively to deliver training sessions on best practices in instructional design as part of the L&D team’s internal curriculum
- Create templates and quick win guides to using instructional design to support the L&D team’s development
- Develop case studies of best practice examples in projects to assist new business pitches and proposals
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Are able to apply instructional design and knowledge of best practice in designing for the learner experience to virtual, face-to-face and hybrid learning environments and across a range of learning programmes and at all stages of the ADDIE (or similar) process
- Experienced in discussing instructional design approaches with stakeholders and non-experts with an awareness of how to manage challenges and blockers
- Experience mentoring others in using instructional design
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and prioritise; excellent time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- A basic understanding of science and medicine or a willingness to learn
- Competence with Articulate 360 or RISE software and LSMs or a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with the power of play or willingness to upskill
