Nimble Gravity Product Engineering collaborates closely with the Included Health Product Management and Design teams to scale and strengthen their Web and Android experiences. Included Health’s powerful healthcare navigation app includes personalized Provider matching, 24/7 Telemedicine+, Expert opinions on diagnoses and treatment plans, and medical claims advocacy.

Senior Backend Engineer

Our team is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to help us scale and build the best possible solutions for our members’ clinical needs. You will be working with other Front End, Mobile, and Backend Engineers to help define the best working modes and practices. You will show solid understanding of the software development life cycle and work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager, Technical Leads, and Product Managers. You will be expected to take well-defined tasks and complete them in a reliable and timely manner and be responsible for the quality of your work.

We are a fast-moving team that delivers on improvements to the current features, builds out new features, runs product experiments, and invests in under-the-hood changes to make our code more reliable, maintainable, and scalable. We are looking for engineers who love to deliver amazing products to users, collaborate across teams and functions, and take strong ownership of how they deliver work.

Role Responsibilities: 

• Partner with product managers to lead the technical planning of ambitious member experience improvements.
• Design systems that span multiple services to enable consistent, fast, clean data flow.
• Swiftly address any issues and invest in resolutions that improve the product’s reliability going forward.
• Identify areas of technical debt and influence roadmap plans with smart solutions.
• Participate in and influence technical decisions of the wider Applications Engineering org.
• Promote software engineering best practices across teams.

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years experience of professional experience in building and maintaining consumer grade web applications.
• Experience with the following technologies: Golang, RoR, GraphQL
• You have a solid understanding of full-stack web development, including modern frontend frameworks, APIs, and backend services.
• You have strong programming skills, CS fundamentals, and a track record of implementing highly reliable software.
• You consider yourself a high growth individual, continuously looking to recognize growth areas and improve in both technical and non-technical skills.
• You tend to become a subject matter expert in any code you dive into, and demonstrate strong product ownership in your team’s work.
• You are eager to learn from feedback, and in turn give your peers feedback that helps the team grow together.

• You are an exceptional problem solver utilizing first-principles thinking.
