In December 2020 we launched The Joy Club platform in the UK, helping our members to meet new people and try new things through our live online events programme, inspiring content and thriving community. Since then, The Joy Club has brought joy to thousands of retirees from across the UK, secured pioneering partnerships with major retirement communities and financial services providers and become a multi-award-winning company. In 2023 alone, The Joy Club was named Healthtech Company of the Year by the Global Business Tech Awards, received the Social Impact Heroes award from Hustle and was named one of the UK’s 50 most impactful companies to work for by Impact Fifty, alongside the likes of Patagonia and Headspace. This is just the beginning, with plans for international expansion and an exciting product roadmap in place.

As our Content and Events Producer, you’ll be responsible for hosting The Joy Club’s live online events, where you will engage with and delight our members, manage facilitators and high-profile guests with warmth and professionalism and ensure the smooth running of all sessions. You will also have responsibility for the production of high-quality content across a range of formats, including video and audio, and you will take ownership of managing our library of on-demand content. You will work closely with our Senior Commissioning Editor to find and onboard fantastic facilitators to create joyful content experiences for our members.

You’ll want to be our Content and Events Producer because:

We’ll want you to be our Content and Events Producer if you have:

• Experience of working in a customer-facing / people-facing role, which will have involved presenting, event-hosting, conversational interactions and issue resolution.
• A proven track record of being technically savvy and confident – you’re a natural troubleshooter who can solve problems as they arise, and you’ll be experienced in using content management systems, as well as recording / editing software and video conferencing.
• Experience working in a startup or small team with a high degree of confidence and autonomy.
• The ability and desire to thrive in a remote working environment.
• It would also be good, but not necessary, if you have experience organising and negotiating with professionals / service providers / freelancers.

You’ll have been successful as our Content and Events Producer, if in one year’s time you have:

• Increased positive member sentiment, as evidenced by positive member feedback, positive reviews of events, increased customer retention and conversions to Premium.
• Increased live online event attendance amongst members.
• Increased engagement with our selection of on-demand video and audio content.
• Helped to shape the direction of our broad content offering.

• Salary range of £28k-£32k (depending on experience) + 10% uplift in the form of an EMI Option Agreement (i.e. additional 10% of your salary worth of options, in addition to your salary).
