About the RoleThe Community Biographer conducts storytelling sessions with our customers, serving as a central role in the value that the company delivers. A strong Biographer is an empathetic and attentive interviewer that helps our storytellers bring their stories to life. An effective Biographer is able to quickly establish rapport, knows when and how to ask follow-up questions to draw out a better story, and demonstrates active listening.We are experimenting with conducting storytelling sessions in Russian language, and this project will enable Arbor to bring on a Russian-speaking Contract Biographer to conduct these experimental sessions. If storytelling and preserving family history is important to you, this could be a great fit.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct Storytelling Sessions: Complete interview sessions reliably as scheduled. This includes:
   • Planning: Reviewing notes about the interviewee in advance of the session.
   • Interviewing: Conducting the interview sessions according to our Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) and quality standards.

• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conducting interviews.
• Interpersonal Skills: A friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor to build rapport with storytellers and create a positive interview experience.
• Fluency in Russian: Native-level proficiency in written and spoken Russian is a must.
• English Proficiency: Strong command of the English language to effectively translate and interpret between Russian and English.
• Cultural Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of Russian culture, customs, and etiquette.
