About us

We’re a commercial motor insurer on a mission to save people time and money. From nationwide taxi fleets to self-employed scooter delivery riders, our customers are our driving force. We work hard to make insurance simple, affordable and stress-free for every one of them.

When we started back in 2016, we knew that traditional insurance held businesses back. It was too complicated, too time consuming, and it wasn’t priced fairly. So we set out to change that, building insurance products to empower professional drivers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.

So far, we’ve raised over $200 million in funding, and we’re proud to hold the title of the UK’s first insurtech Unicorn (a private company valued at over $1 billion). We’ve grown from a scrappy start-up into an industry changing organisation. And there’s plenty more to come.

How we work

We believe that teams work better when they have time to collaborate and space to get things done. We call it Zego Hybrid.

It’s not “hybrid working” as you might know it – we don’t ask you to work from the office on set days. It’s a flexible approach that allows every Zegon to be their best.

Home can still be your primary place of work, with team days and events at our central Paris office when we need to get together. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards travel costs for our monthly pizza socials and other team get-togethers.

We think it’s a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve that right balance between work and life.

About the role

We’re looking for a Clais Analytics Manager with a passion for improving claims processes and customer experience. This role will provide analytical firepower to our work in claims. As a product-led tech company this is a chance for an analyst to join a rapidly scaling Claims team and make an impact in one of the most impactful areas within insurance.

You will be working with our Claims leadership team to build out the foundational reporting/dashboards for our in-house Claims function, providing claims insights both to our Claims Leadership team and also to the wider Zego business and undertaking analysis to spot opportunities for improvement in our processes.

What you’ll be working on

• Designing and building core data models and reporting to support day-to-day operations of the Claims function as well as key reporting for senior stakeholders (Zego leadership, investors, insurance partners) on the claims function performance
• Enabling key decision-making for the Claims leadership team by analyzing performance and the underlying drivers, identifying and sizing opportunities for continuous improvement within the current processes and communicating them to the leadership team, and tracking the impact of improvement initiatives
• Working closely with senior management present findings and tell engaging stories through data, whether supporting the Claims, or Pricing businesses processes, and Zego’s Leadership Team and external / partner reporting needs.

• Comprehensive technical and operational knowledge of claims processes, along with financial understanding of claim reserving and settlements.
• Ability to extract and manipulate data using SQL
• Experience building out PowerBI data models, reporting and dashboards
• Ability to build coherent narratives around data insights while explaining complex insurance complex in a simple way to senior stakeholders (investors, Zego board, insurance capacity)
• Understanding of the wider insurance motor market and factors impacting on claims performance
• Understand actuarial and reserving methodologies and be the claims liaison between these key areas with Zego (Nice to have)
