Backpack Designer

Description of the offer

We are a growing backpack company based in Barcelona, looking for an experienced Backpack Designer to help us develop some new products from scratch and evolve our current ones. The ideal candidate will have a background in the fashion industry, a keen eye for color and style, and the technical skills to bring concepts into production.

Responsibilities:

Develop new backpack designs from initial concept to final production-ready prototypes
Conduct market research and trend analysis to stay up-to-date on industry developments
Collaborate with our manufacturing team in China to ensure designs meet quality requirements
Continuously evaluate and improve designs based on customer feedback
Support marketing/sales team with Product Photography, Graphic Design and Videography
Actively research for new materials, trims, fabrics, techniques, hardware, seasonal concepts and color palettes
Collaborate with Production team, suppliers and manufacturers to iteratively develop products by testing and evaluating samples and refining production

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in backpack design
Knowledge of the fashion industry and current trends
Creative mindset and ability to translate ideas into sketches
Strong technical skills and knowledge of materials and production processes
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CLO3D would be nice)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Fluent on English
Living in the province of Barcelona

This is a 3 to 6 month freelance position, with the potential for further opportunities in the future. The candidate will be required to work in our Barcelona office 4 days a week.
