ShelfCycle is a new operating system for the distributors of chemical products. Our software is an all-in-one platform for inventory optimization, relationship management, and precise accounting. We automate the digital flow of chemical products as they physically flow through the chemical supply chain.

We launched in 2023 and are now scaling quickly. We’re becoming the new system-of-record for multiple chemical companies every month. Customers love that they can migrate their daily operations into ShelfCycle and immediately benefit from best-in-class UI/UX + AI to automate data entry and surface insights to their team.

We need an engineering leader that will empower our product team as we grow.

 Who we’re looking for

An experienced, entrepreneurial engineering leader to own ShelfCycle’s platform and build our engineering org. This position reports to founder and CEO Michael Harrison.

️ Location

We’re fully-remote (ET/CT preferred), but we fly the team together roughly once a quarter. We believe relationships still power great work.

 What you’ll do

• Build. You will still write code, review PRs, and lead design docs. We are looking for a Player-Coach, someone who still loves to build.
• Design the future. You will own the roadmap and the technical vision in partnership with Founder+CX+Sales.
• Lead our decision-making on security, DX, infrastructure, tooling. We’ve laid a great foundation for you.
• Push product innovation. You must be forward-looking on AI+ML and how to build world-class software in 2025.
• Hire+train+develop the team. We have a world-class (but small!) R&D team already. Your job is to empower each member to flourish.

• An exceptional engineer with 7+ years building data-intensive B2B SaaS

 What we like to see

• Keen product instincts and a strong intuition for what makes a product maintainable
• Passion for our mission of making the chemical supply chain more productive and responsible
• Deep curiosity. You must want to learn as much as possible about the industry to know how to best serve it
• As many as possible: Hands-on experience with scalable architecture, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, LLM production deployments, vector databases/RAG stacks, ETL data pipelines, event-driven architecture, accounting systems, ERP development, CRM development, the chemical industry
